Gilded bronze, marble, stickers
& banana bunches.

An interactive sculpture and installation inspired by literary folktale “The Emperor's New Clothes”. Written by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen, about a vain emperor who gets exposed before his subjects.

NO BANANA? was created for the group exhibition “Manifestation Lövholmen” at Färgfabriken in Stockholm in 2020. NO BANANA? Consists of a cast gilded bronze sculpture, six bunches of banans and more than 1000 customized fruit stickers.

The gilded cast bronze banana aged in the same pace as the real surrounding banans as its golden costume fell off with the “help” of interacting visitors throughout the whole duration of the exhibition. Finally revealing its true self
– A perfectly aged, cubistic cast bronze banana.
